Anesthesiologist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- The Anesthesiologist assists in directing and coordinating activities within the Anesthesia Department.
- Provide medical management for patients undergoing unconsciousness or insensibility to pain and emotional stress during medical procedures.
- Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments.
- Obtain and/or verify patient consent.
- Discuss anesthetic options and associated risks with patients.
- Administer induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
- The Anesthesiologist monitors patients' physiological condition throughout procedures.
- Perform necessary clinical interventions as required.
- Deliver clinical anesthesiology services and patient care pre- and post-operation.
- Monitor patients during surgery and in various care units such as ICU, short stay unit, acute pain management, and emergency airway management.
- Review medical files and laboratory results.
- The Anesthesiologist informs patients about the risks associated with anesthesia.
Anesthesiologist - REQUIREMENTS
- Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of recent experience.
- M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine.
- Completion of approved Residency in Anesthesia as per ECFMC and FLEX requirements.
- Current licensure as a Physician and possession of a current license to practice medicine in the state of Illinois.
