About the Facility: Minneapolis VAMC
Minneapolis VA Medical Center is one of the VA's four polytrauma medical centers to care for active-duty service members and Veterans with brain injuries, who are blind, or have had an amputation and maintains a 65,000 square foot center to care for Veterans with spinal cord injuries and disorders. In 2018, 1,289 volunteers donated 189,586 hours to help care for Veterans, the same year that was recorded 980,427 outpatient visits. The main campus provides primary care and specialty health services, including surgery, psychiatry, neurology, cancer treatment (oncology), dentistry, and more.

Audiology Technicians - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- The Audiology Technician offers patient support through various communication methods, including telephone, secure messaging, video calls, and tele-health services.
- Care provided must meet or exceed the quality standards set by The Society of Hospital Medicine, The American Board of Internal Medicine, The Joint Commission (TJC), the American Hospital Association (AHA), VA standards, and the guidelines within the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
- The Audiology Technician performs ear mold impressions, track orders, conduct routine repairs, and provide patient education on hearing device usage and maintenance.
- Removal, sterilization, and patient education in proper ear hygiene are essential duties, with escalation to ENT services when necessary.
- Management of stock hearing aids, accessories, and related inventory is essential to ensure the efficient operation of the clinic.
- The Audiology Technician assists with patient movement, in-patient visits, scheduling adjustments, and tele-audiology provisions are provided as needed.
Audiology Technicians - REQUIREMENTS
- Certification: Must have a current Basic Life Support certificate.
- License: Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
