About the Facility – Belcourt (The Quentin N. Burdick Memorial HCF)
The Quentin N Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility, located in Belcourt, North Dakota, is a 27-bed hospital serving a population of approximately 14,550 Native Americans. The QNBMHCF Outpatient provides 24-Hour Emergency Services, Laboratory, Radiology (CAT Scan & Mobile MRI), and 24-Hour Pharmacy Services. Ambulatory services consist of Optometry, Dental, Clinical, Emergency, Podiatry, and Same-Day Clinic. This facility also offers Behavioral Health.

Nurse Practitioner - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to):
- The Nurse Practitioner shall provide a full scope of medical services to include patients of all ages at the Quentin Burdick Memorial Healthcare Facility Unit.
- Will provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services (e.g., supervise general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute, and chronic conditions involving all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
- Shall provide medical care services for Ambulatory services in the Emergency Room setting, including providing direct care to patients of all ages with a variety of medical, surgical, pediatric, geriatric, gynecological, and health maintenance needs.
- The NP will be responsible and accountable for the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patient problems, including the prescription of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- The scope of practice of a nurse practitioner includes, but is not limited to, each of the following:
- Ordering diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures, performing those tests and procedures when using health care equipment, and interpreting and using the results of diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures ordered by the advanced practice registered nurse or another health care professional.
- Ordering treatments, ordering, or applying appropriate medical devices, and using nursing, medical, therapeutic, and corrective measures to treat illness and improve health status.
- Providing advanced counseling, patient education, health education, and patient advocacy.
- The FNP will NOT participate in on call for general admissions of patients, nor will they be expected to do admissions and inpatient care. Any patient under their care who needs admission will be directed to the on-call physician.
Nurse Practitioner - REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a Master's degree or Doctorate in nursing.
- Must have a current and unrestricted license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
- Must have certification through the AANP.
- Must have a current Basic Life Support certification; ACLS/PALS and NRP is recommended but not required.
- Must have a minimum of one year of experience in the clinical areas of primary care.
