Family Practice Physician - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

  • The Family Practice Physician provides a comprehensive range of physician services in line with the privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
  • Leading, performing, or assisting in training and instructing other healthcare professionals within the scope of clinical privileges.
  • Conducting examinations, diagnoses, and treatment, or prescribing treatment plans within the limits of training, experience, and privileges.
  • The Family Practice Physician delivers preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, promoting positive health behaviors, and supporting self-care skills through education and counseling.
  • Ordering diagnostic tests as necessary and facilitating consultations or referrals to appropriate physicians, clinics, or other healthcare resources as indicated.
  • The Family Practice Physician demonstrates technical proficiency in directing and teaching medical staff, providing educational lectures, and participating in in-service training for clinic staff members.

Family Practice Physician - REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada.
  • Experience: At least 3 years' experience in a Family Medicine setting within the last 4 years.
  • Internship/Residency: Completion of an accredited internship and residency program, including at least 1 year of supervised clinical experience.
  • License: Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state.
  • Board Certification: Board eligibility is required; board certification is preferred.
  • Life Support Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Security: Must pass a government background check and qualify for a government security clearance.
