The facility provides a comprehensive range of healthcare services to veterans, including primary care, mental health services, specialty care, and rehabilitation programs. Located in Northern California, it features advanced facilities for surgery, diagnostic imaging, and emergency care, along with dedicated programs for women veterans and those with substance use disorders. The center emphasizes a holistic approach to care, integrating physical, mental, and social health services. As part of the Veterans Health Administration, the Sacramento VAMC also offers telehealth options to improve accessibility and reach veterans in remote areas.

Occupational Therapist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

  • The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients to identify their needs and functional abilities.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals based on your assessments.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions to improve patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional skills.
  • Use adaptive equipment and assistive technology to enhance daily living activities for your patients.
  • The Occupational Therapist educates patients and their families about treatment plans and exercises will be a key part of your job.
  • Regularly monitoring patient progress, you will adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure effectiveness.
  • Thorough documentation of patient outcomes will be required to comply with facility protocols.
  • Engage in community outreach to raise awareness of occupational therapy services and participate in professional development to stay current in the field.
  • The Occupational Therapist guide patients on lifestyle modifications and injury prevention strategies to promote independence.

Occupational Therapist - REQUIREMENTS

  • Shall have a full and unrestricted license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States of the District of Columbia.
  • Shall hold Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Minimum of one year in outpatient ortho and neuro experience.
  • Graduate from a program accredited by ACOTE – Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education.
  • Current National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification as an OT.
