About the Facility – Belcourt (The Quentin N. Burdick Memorial HCF)
The Quentin N Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility located in Belcourt, North Dakota, is a 27-bed hospital serving a population of approximately 14,550 Native Americans. The QNBMHCF Outpatient provides 24-Hour Emergency Services, Laboratory, Radiology (CAT Scan & Mobile MRI) and 24-Hour Pharmacy Services. Ambulatory services consist of Optometry, Dental, Clinical, Emergency, Podiatry, and Same-Day Clinic. This facility also offers Behavioral Health.

Pharmacist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- The Pharmacist shall enter prescriptions using the ScriptPro and Pyxis computer software.
- Process prescriptions accurately in adherence to medical guidelines.
- Verify prescription completeness, appropriateness, and interactions as per policies.
- Provide medication instructions and address medical queries following protocols.
- Manage controlled medications and document patient medical information according to guidelines.
- In the inpatient pharmacy, the Pharmacist must be able to check orders against the MAR to ensure they were accurately prescribed.
- The Pharmacist must be able to compound and accurately label IV additives from the doctor's orders.
- Screen patient charts to align medication orders with chart notes, lab work, vitals, and allergies.
- Process new medication orders and fulfill prescription orders as required.
- Ensure accuracy of filled prescription orders.
- Educate patients on medication therapy and provide necessary information.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team and providers for timely and accurate pharmaceutical services.
- Address provider inquiries regarding drug therapy and ensure proper medication dispensation.
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies and adverse reactions to medications.
- Handle telephone calls, refill requests, and input outside prescriptions into the system.
- Conduct controlled substance audits as directed.
- The Pharmacist assists with order organization and performs patient pill counts at the pharmacy window when necessary.
Pharmacist - REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a degree from a school of pharmacy approved by a state-accrediting agency.
- Shall possess a current, active, unrestricted license from any of the 50 United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the District of Columbia.
- Shall maintain continuing education/certification and have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacist within the past 36 months.
